St Charles' Catholic Voluntary Academy

St Ralph Sherwin
Catholic Multi Academy Trust

In Reception we choose two 'special helpers' each day. They lead our class prayer, take the register to the school office and are the leaders of the line into assembly and into the dinner hall.

Each morning the children get busy as soon as they hang up their coat, this half term the focus is on fine motor activities to encourage a correct pencil grip and letter formation when name writing.

We will be playing and making relationships with friends and learning the rules and routines in class and around school. We are learning to hear the initial sound in words and sing songs and rhymes.

In Maths we will be concentrating on numbers up to 10, matching objects to given numbers and recognising numbers out of sequence. We will use a number line to help us say to 'how many' objects are in a set.

Please can we remind parents that there is no need to send any snack or drinks into school. Your child will be provided with a piece of fruit and milk (until their 5th birthday) everyday and water as and when they need it. If you would like your child to continue to receive milk please apply online through the cool milk website.

Reception have PE with  the sports coach every Tuesday, please can they  have a PE kit to keep in school. We will send it home for washing at the end of each half term.

Please can we ask that ALL clothing is labelled clearly.

thank you
